Ishardham is a small seaside village in Jamnagar – a district in Gujarat – with less than 16 households. Nakul conducted a session over there gathering over a dozen farmers from these households and educated them on the negative impacts of synthetic fertilizers and pesticides on the environment, the economy, and the health of the society. Teaching them how to make biopesticides and biofertilizers on their own, Nakul provided them with the opportunity to grow organic and sustainable crops at their farms. Today, many of these farmers have taken small steps towards sustainability by either growing crops and food for their families organically or by decreasing the amount of synthetic fertilizers they use, and increasing the use of biopesticides and biofertilizers instead.
