Jaliya is a village in Rajkot – a district in Gujarat – with a population of over 1700 people. Nakul conducted a seminar with the village head educating farmers about the ill impacts of synthetic fertilizers and pesticides on the environment, the economy and the health of the society as a whole. Emphasizing the importance of sustainable agriculture to the farmers, Nakul explained the step by step process towards complete sustainable farming through adaptation of the Zero Budget Natural Farming model. Trying to explain the significance of starting with small steps Nakul convinced several farmers to start looking in the direction of sustainable farming over the upcoming few years.
